Michael Vargas is the founder and principal consultant of Atlas Project Support. This boutique energy and construction management firm focuses on corporate sustainability, sustainable building practices and preconstruction services for public and private clients. Michael holds both academic and industry credentials and has more than 15 years of construction and project management experience.

In addition to his consulting business, Michael is an adjunct professor in the Donald R. Tapia School of Business at Saint Leo University a Catholic University located in Florida, the Graduate Studies program at Coleman University, and the San Diego State University College of Extended Studies as well as an instructor for Everblue training. This educational component resonates throughout Michael’s professional life as he also conducts training in sustainable business practices for organizations and groups through Atlas. Michael also donates his efforts in support of the San Diego State Foundation Energy Innovations Small Grant Technology Transfer Program at the Lavin Center as an MBA student mentor.

Mr. Vargas is currently a Doctor of Education in Leadership Studies Candidate at Creighton University. Vargas earned a Masters in Business Administration, a Masters in Project Management and a Graduate Certificate in Financial Analysis from the Keller Graduate School of Management. Michael completed a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration at San Diego State University, along with a Certificate in Green Building and Construction.

Specialties: He is recognized by the Association of Energy Engineers as a Certified Business Energy Professional and Certified Energy Auditor and the California Association of Building Energy Consultants (CABEC) as a Certified Energy Plans Examiner and is a LEED Accredited Professional with the Green Associate designation supporting the US Green Building Council. Michael has a Contractor Quality Manager certification from NAVFAC.
