Bio | I was born and raised Bakersfield, CA. I have an older sister and a twin brother, non-fraternal. For the most part, I was raised by a divorced, working mother during my elementary school years in the 60s, when we were at war in Vietnam, and there were many social changes occurring, similarly to today. I loved all sports and played drums in marching and step band. After my mother became an alcoholic at my age 11, I was able to live with my father at age 13. In high school, I played football, was on debate team, involved in student government, and on California and National Honor Societies. I worked from age 15, bought my own car and clothes and in fact lived with a friend at age 15-16 until moving back with father for senior year until I left for Air Force at 18. I enlisted in the Air Force in 1978 to get a college education, to leave home, and to serve my country shortly after the end of Vietnam. I was assigned as a medical technician but was then selected as one of 250 enlisted troops in the entire Air Force to get an appointment to USAF Academy. I attended there from 1980-1984 and majored in International Affairs. Upon graduation, I was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and served as a Mostly, I retired in 1998 due to numerous, painful, unknown medical problems after serving during UN Peacekeeping/Desert Storm 1993-1994 in Riyadh, SA as Comptroller for USAF. My wife at the time was also very sick and fortunately survived after surgery. After much research on the subject 21 years later, I believe she became sick from my exposures to chemical and biological weapons during Desert Storm. After retiring, I founded Jeff Burum CPA,MBA, LLC and Professional Financial Planning Inc in 1997. For 17 years, I did thousands of tax returns for individuals, partnerships and corporations. I also provided comprehensive accounting services, payroll, business start ups and financial analyses. This progressed to financial planning, investment advising, and estate planning. I had to terminate my CPA practice in 2012 based upon VA recommendation after 21 years of continuous medical problems and more open disclosures of Gulf War Illness from Desert Storm 1991-1995. I moved back to CA two years ago expecting to die. However, once I was able to find out about the cause, I was able to get treatment from private doctors . Thank God for the internet. The Congressional Research Advisory Committee has established at least twice over the several years , after at least78,000 deaths and at least 750,000 exposed military personnel, Gulf War Illness is the result of nerve gas (LIKE SARIN, TABUN, CYCLOSARIN) and PB pills taken to counteract nerve gas. Other research, and my own blood tests, revealed biological warfare in the form of mycoplasms which deteriorate the autoimmune and endocrine systems. ALS and MS as well as various cancers have resulted in highly exposed people, while low exposures have resulted in persistent, mounting medical problems as a result of autoimmune and endocrine system attacks from chemical and biological warfare. I have personally provided written testimony to numerous Congressmen about Gulf War Illness, VA services, and researched medical treatments for my own cures. Hence, I still stand here today as a retired Gulf War Veteran and officer, entrepreneur, financial advisor, and father of three fine men. I continue PFP Inc as an investment advisor and plan to pass practice to my son. |
