I began teaching at age eight (8) because I didn't like being 'dumb'. My family had moved from Los Angeles to Pasadena to escape the backlash of the original Riots of 1965. Upon entering school that first year, I felt I was behind. That summer, I begged my mother to purchase workbooks from Lakeside School Supplies, and I invited my neighbors to come to my summer school". My Father had taught me that you learn more and become smarter when you teach someone else. I have been teaching ever since.
