Steven Chang is a registered architect with over 25 years of experience on a variety of projects, ranging from residential and corporate to large complex institutional and civic buildings. He has participated in all capacities of architecture, responsible for planning, design, detailing, as well as project management, and prides himself on building relationships with clients and construction teams. His focus on the craft of making buildings stems from his background in carpentry, where he developed a special interest in the tectonics of how buildings can be put together.
After graduating from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in architecture, Steven spent five years traveling around the world with stints working in architecture offices in Portugal, Germany and his native South Korea. He is passionate about mentorship and currently teaches a Public Speaking course for his colleagues at ZGF Architects.
Steven is a member of the American Institute of Architects, a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional and served as a Visiting Professor at Pratt Institute’s Graduate Architecture and Urban Design Program for many years.
