From The Bronx to Cali A Christian Playwright and Independent Filmmaker

Originally born in Philadelphia, then later moved and grew up in the Bronx, New York Sister Batten is an over-comer of all kinds of obstacles and life issues (broken home, violence, poverty) just to name a few. She was and still is a dreamer who loves performing. With the support of her family, community and limited funds she continues to step out on faith turning passion of filmmaking along with obedience to God from dream to reality. Not only has she been writing, directing and producing original dramatic stage plays, dinner shows, concerts and special events for the past fifteen years, but she continues to produce films that challenge the mindset of everyday thinking while overcoming micro budgets through God’s FAVOR of INCREASE and CREATIVITY.

Currently residing in Southern California with her husband Elder James Batten, Sister Batten continues to be an inspiration to all those around her, bringing forth hope and joy to a dying world.
