Sijia Chen focuses on painting, photography, installation and public art. Chen received her MFA from Tyler School of Art in 2011 and her BFA from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2009. Her recent works include the SWA installation and tea tree sculptures at Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport. Chen has shown her work in solo exhibitions at Art and Sustainability, Net Impact Los Angeles, Culver City, CA; Art Museum of Shantou University, China; Fei Gallery, Guangzhou; South Bay Contemporary, CA; Zhou B Art Center, Chicago; Temple Contemporary, Philadelphia, and group exhibitions in Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, U.S. and China. Chen's work is collected by numerous institutions, among them the Inside Out Museum, Beijing; Guangdong Art Museum, Guangzhou, Shantou University, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.

Chen has also devoted her time in curating exchanged art projects between the U.S. and China, including Beyond the Ocean—Exchanged Exhibitions between Torrance Art Museum and Ucity Art Museum of GAFA, and the National Exhibition of China at the Los Angeles Art Show. Chen has given lectures about her work at many institutions including Tyler School of Art, California State University Long Beach, University of Missouri, the University of the Arts, Los Angeles International Photographers Association, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Shantou University and Guangzhou University.

Sijia Chen was granted U.S. permanent residency through the EB1(Extraordinary Ability category 1)program. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles and Shantou.
