Bio

Dr. Parmis Khatibi is an anticoagulation and antithrombotic clinical specialist at University of California, Irvine Medical Center as well as a Clinical Adjunct Professor for the University of California, San Francisco School of Pharmacy and USC School of Pharmacy. She is a part of the Dean's Advisory Group at Chapman University School of Pharmacy. Dr. Khatibi manages a whole spectrum of patients in her clinic who require treatment of thromboembolic diseases and associated complications. Her clinical research interests are in venous thromboembolism and the degree of morbidity and mortality associated with this disease. She recently implemented Medication Safety and Therapy Clinics at UCI Medical Center and has served on the Medication Therapy Management Task Force for CSHP.

Dr. Khatibi received her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and attended The University of the Pacific where she earned her doctorate. She completed a post-doctoral/residency training program at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Prior to her matriculation for her doctorate, Parmis was a high school teacher in a poverty-stricken area of south central Los Angeles. She implemented many programs that dealt with gang prevention as well as self-esteem and self-confidence issues for young women.

While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Parmis co-founded TCNC, a corporation committed to proper health and nutrition for children in home daycare settings. Her passion lies in assisting children and families in poverty-stricken areas and breaking the cycle of poverty among familial generation. She believes education and a good home environment are important in a child's early life in order for them to nourish mentally, physically, and emotionally and free themselves from the confines of poverty.

Parmis is dedicated to learning about and becoming engaged with the most pressing challenges facing future generations and dedicates her time to political and philanthropic causes. She is the Chairman for the World Affairs Council of Orange County, an Orange County Board of Supervisors Appointee to the HIV Planning Council, a delegate for the California Republican Party. She has also served in executive board member and committee member capacity for Blind Children’s Learning Center, California Women’s Leadership Association, Healthcare Businesswomen's Association, Zoroastrian Youth of North America, Farhang Foundation and served as the statewide chair for the Women's Coalition for California Gubernatorial Candidate, Neel Kashkari.
