Marilyn G. Patterson, M.S. Urban Affairs, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee (UWM). Specialized in Urban Planning/Development, public Policy and Administration. Ms. Patterson is certified to provide consulting, training and technical assistance to government agencies and private sector clients on economic and community development. As an Adjunct Professor, Ms. Patterson lectured at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), Department of Geography & Environmental Studies since retiring from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD, 2013), Los Angeles, CA (26 yrs.). During Ms. Patterson’s HUD career, she demonstrated achievements in the areas of grants management, Public & Indian Housing, construction management, environmental issues, labor standards enforcement, FHA insured project developments, compliance issues, affordable housing, community planning & development, green development, mixed-use, mixed-income, multifamily, single-family development. Prior to Ms. Patterson’s HUD career, she administered housing, economic development and real estate programs with the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County interfacing with federal agencies and municipalities. Prior to Ms. Patterson’s government career, she accomplished the development and implementation of engineering projects serving Metropolitan Water & Sewage districts and urban planning programs/projects. Ms. Patterson’s achievements with the local governments included the development of policies and procedures addressing minority business enterprises and disadvantaged businesses, proposal writing and strategic planning. She is a recognized and well known expert trainer on the topics of Urban/Rural Development and government programs, public policy and Administration. Ms. Patterson served on Governor Brown’s State Council for Developmental Disabilities, where she was appointed as Chair of Housing & Development Committee.
