Jennifer got into insurance at a very young age; she was 18, and stayed with the industry for about 17 years. She loved insurance but always thought that no matter what amazing firm she was at, they all had the same business model with the same pain point of needing to use funds to acquire customers. She thought that there had to be a better way to get customers! Jennifer was also at that point of doing insurance for 17 years and thinking: I want to do something completely fulfilling that I really enjoy.

This urge pulled Jennifer to go back to her home country of Sri Lanka as the civil war was coming to an end. In Sri Lanka she helped the youth community and really enjoyed connecting with the community there and first became inspired to start Givesurance. She wanted to start a company that would help charities in need, and utilize the industry experience she had in insurance.
