In August of 2015, Talk Nerdy To Me, Lover was purchased by CBS for a put pilot (a pilot with a penalty if it doesn't get air time) after a four way bidding war between ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX. Jen was part of the three-person team that built the Throwback.to Facebook page (an IAC property) from 4,000 likes to over 500K in less than 9 months, with a routine reach of over 9.4 million. On the small screen, Jen was a part of Comcast's first “social television” network called Vidblogger nation, available for three seasons in over 50 million homes. She was also featured on the first season of the hit CNBC show, West Texas Investors Club, where she pitched her app, Whats Up The App, LLC, where she received an investment offer but instead sold her app to a private investor. In October 2016, Friel gave a TedX Talk in Normal, Illinois called The business of being crazy" (later retitled "Make my day using social media"). Later in 2017 |
