After earning my Bachelors degree in Social Work from California State University Long, I began a career with the Department of Children and Family Services as a Children's Social Worker - Emergency Response Unit. In 2010, I changed professions to become a Financial Services Representative with Primerica. The mission of the company, to serve the underrepresented, spoke to the core of who I am. I spent the earliest part of my vocation reshaping my thinking, obtaining licenses (life insurance, Series 6, 63, and 26) and understanding this new world that I had never been given access to. After 13 months, I was promoted to Regional Vice President and relocated my business to New Jersey. There, I spent 5 years providing financial literacy in underserved communities and implementing every skill I had become familiar (marketing, teaching, team building, etc). In 2016, my son and I moved back to Southern California.
