Jesse Genet is the founder of Lumi and the maker of Inkodye. Now 26, Jesse has been developing and experimenting with printing processes since she was 16 years old. The Inkodye process was inspired by her love of photography and desire to make beautiful prints without expensive equipment. With Inkodye, Lumi is pioneering a new DIY process for printing clothing and textiles using sunlight.
She studied Industrial Design at Art Center College of Design, where she founded Lumi. She launched Lumi via a Kickstarter campaign and has bootstrapped it into a global business. Inkodye, which is manufactured in LA at Lumi HQ, is now sold in over 1,500 stores in 24 countries.
